Junior Software Tester

We depend on unit and integration tests to provide confidence that with each release of our tools will meet the highest quality standards. You must be conscious of constraints around security and performance. You will have the technical confidence to bring your own ideas to avoid inefficient solutions.

We are looking for someone with an eye for detail, that can take functional requirements and test products and their components to make sure that what is delivered meets the specification outlined. It is not necessary to have a complete coding background, but as part of this role you will leant and detect areas of concern in user’s code.

Responsibilities

• Meet with system users to understand the scope of projects
• Work with software developers and project support teams
• Identify business requirements
• Carry out stress testing, performance testing, and functional testing
• Execute test scripts and begin to write your own test scripts
• Run manual and automated tests
• Test in different environments including web and mobile
• Write bug reports
• Review documentation
• Work towards departmental and project deadlines
• Provide quality assurance
• Provide objective feedback to software development project teams
• Troubleshoot and problem solve
• Design tests to mitigate risk
• Present findings to software development and business user teams
• Work on multiple projects at one time
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical colleagues.
